Ray(mond George Alfred) Cooney

Born in London, May 30, 1932 Ray Cooney began his theatrical career as a juvenile in Song of Norway at the Palace Theatre in 1946. He played in various repertory companies before joining Brian Rix’s company at the Whitehall Theatre in 1956. Later, he began a writing career which has produced seventeen West End plays. He was awarded an O.B.E. in 2005 in recognition of his services to drama
