One-act comedy
Damon, who has lost half his fortune through gambling is in love with Constance, despite the fact that she has apparently been promised to another. Damon is determined to recoup his losses and marry Constance, but his father, hoping to teach him a lesson, disguises himself as a gambler and wins the rest of Damon's money. Damon's penitent vow never to gamble again prompts his father to reveal himself and return the money. He then explains that it is Damon himself to whom Constance has been promised.
